On holiday at the Sweeney Farm, Great Pride, in County Cork, Ted hears of President Ronald Reagan's call for public and congressional support of his SDI - Star Wars - defense initiative. Torn, Ted discussed the news with his host Ewan Sweeney. "Is he a good President? Who am I to say? I can vouch for him as a man and as an accomplished card player. If pressed, I'd say no. No, Dutch is not a good President and that hurts me because I consider him a dear friend. I simply can not find favor - especially when challenged by bold faced lies such as 'The United States does not start fights.' If he was here today, I'd say, straight-away, 'Listen Dutch, we're Americans, we were born fighting. Embrace it good man and cast aside any commie who dares question our right to enforce the law.'"

Today, March 16th, marks the first full year of residence in Venice for Ted Perez + Associates after 5 years in neighboring Santa Monica.

We are grateful for the good fortune we have enjoyed in our new home, the lessons learned and reward of building and curating from scratch and the consistent and collaborative support of those who truly pay the bills...our clients.

Thanks to all who have helped raise the flag.

On this date in 1972, Ted Perez, in an attempt to disprove the theory that life might exist on Jupiter, secretly gained access to Mission Control in Houston, TX.

After being discovered, Mr. Perez successfully held the security forces at bay for over 45 minutes with a broom handle and two hostages - maintenance engineers Kumar Pallana and Mary Foy. Foy, interviewed in '78 for a Parade Magazine exposé on 'The Common Transgendered Man' recalled "Guilty or not, all I know is Mr. Perez was right. We weren't hostages - we were comrades. I'll never forget his cry: Questions do not hurt - truth does not hurt - batons and mace, fuck, that hurts."

Ted Perez, on the final leg of his 1960-61 European lecture tour where he debated, town hall style, with the 'common man', subjects ranging from US foreign policy, wildlife preservation and the benefits of a fiber-free diet, is pulled from atop a young man who he'd been arguing with in the water closet of a local pub. His opponent, a Stuart Sutcliffe of Edinburgh, filed charges claiming Perez had broken his hand and stolen his scarf.

Ted, a guest of President Luis Echeverria, responds "Their blood, unlike that of my brothers and enemies, flows a most pale shade of yellow." when asked his opinion of "The Dodgers". An avid baseball, and specifically Los Angeles Dodgers, fan, Echeverria was said to have excused himself shortly thereafter.

Ted spoke at the first-year orientation ceremonies for the University of Georgia's newly founded School of Social Work. Norma Robertson, a student in attendance that day, had written an excerpt from his address in her journal:

"Hold fast, naked, as intended, to a reef of razorblades and broken glass amidst a tempest of doubt. Your survival will prove the majority rotten."
